Announcing the departure of a player is not an HCL’s habit. The mediatic echo that the Hofmann’s negotiation had in the last weeks imposes an exception.
Gregory Hofmann informed personally the board of the Hockey Club Lugano of his choice to continue his career away from Lugano starting from next season.
The 26 years old forward born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which contract with HCL expires at the end of this championship, has decided to refuse the renewal proposal made by the HCL.
The club hoped until the last moment that the negotiation with the player could go well and it’s sad for the ending.
On the other side, the HCL respetcs the will expressed by Hofmann to find a new challenge, as he did in the past when he moved from Ambrì to Davos and, afterwards, to Lugano.
The HCL states that in this occaion the proposal was extremely competitive on the market for the ambition of the club, financially and for the length of the deal.
Board and staff are also convinced that the actual Postfinance Topscorer of the team will continue to give his best for our colors until the end of the season, contribuing at the reach of the goals fixed.
