TheHockey Club Lugano informs that two players bianconeri underwent surgery in recent days at the Ars Medica Clinic in Gravesano to permanently resolve some medical issues that arose during the season.
Elia Riva underwent surgery on an ankle that was treated conservatively during the season and will be able to resume full training in the coming weeks.
Mirco Müller had suffered a wrist injury during the Olympic Games, which flared up during the final weeks of the regular season. After a specialist evaluation, it was decided to proceed with surgery to treat the present injury. After an initial period of immobilisation, the No. 25 defenceman is expected to undergo about six weeks of rehabilitation before resuming training.
The need to undergo these operations obviously prevented Elia and Mirco from responding to a possible call-up with the Swiss national team for the World Cup in Finland.
