On the occasion of the farewell to the team next Saturday, April 6, starting at 11 a.m. at the Shed behind the Yellow Shed, a special tribute will be dedicated byHockey Club Lugano to Julian Walker who, after twenty seasons in the National League and eleven consecutive championships with the jersey bianconera, has decided to end his playing career.
With his grit, natural leadership and attitude of sacrifice for the good of the team, "Jule" has been over the years a true warrior on the ice and a true team man in the locker room.
Arriving in Lugano in 2013, the 37-year-old forward has played 502 league games with the HCL (60 goals, 69 assists), the 13th player with the most appearances in the club's history.
A two-time playoff finalist (2016, 2018), a 90-time Swiss national, he has competed in three world championships, winning the silver medal in 2013 in Stockholm.
Capable of exalting himself in difficulties, Walker has proven over the years to be an essential element in team cohesion, playing ... with a stick between his teeth especially in special situations such as numerical inferiorities and also scoring heavy goals for the team's path.
Saturday's event will thus be an ideal opportunity for the club and its fans to celebrate its exploits.
